T-ST 72913 - Advanced Dialects
This course will review fundamental skills of accent and dialect acquisition learned in Speech 3 and 4, including phonetics, prosody, oral posture, and cultural inquiry. Students will continue to practice and develop these skills as they apply them to a range of dialect-specific research and performance projects. These projects will also give students the opportunity to move from technical mastery of a general dialect into embodied performance and character-specific idiolect. Whenever possible, students will be encouraged to personalize creative application projects to further their individual learning goals.
