T-SK 1441 - Music and Rhythm
This course develops the student’s sense of time (the perceived space between events and/or elements) and inner pulse using body movement, speaking, and clapping, and relates this to the student’s performance skills through learned timing techniques and group exercises. Weekly listening labs will integrate students’ rhythmic understanding (conceptual and physical) with aural music appreciation. Listening examples will familiarize students with the history of western music and traditions from around the world, connecting them to students’ own listening habits and experiences.
