T-PR 71912 - The Business of Theater
This course will give students an overview of the business side of the performing arts industry We will provide context for students' upcoming career paths and address specific questions. We will look at the key roles and players of the theatrical industry, read and review different contracts of work, build a base of accounting and financial skills, discuss taxes and financial planning, and more. Students will build their resumes, acting websites, and personal budgets. Throughout the course, students will discover the lifestyle of a working actor and how to prepare themselves for a career in the arts.
