M-PR 1802 - Foundations Instr. Studies 2: Woodwinds
One part of a two-semester, first-year seminar sequence, Foundations of Instrumental Studies is designed to serve as a welcome and introduction to this next important step in your journey toward a life in the arts, no matter what shape and direction that might take. Recognizing that we each bring to this stage a variety of expertise and deficit, this class explores the wide variety of skills and expectations placed on you as an artist and will challenge you to consider your role in our future society. Taught through a combination of lecture, discussion and experiential learning sessions, in both small instrumental family cohort and, at several points throughout the semester, as a combined larger class, we will explore a wide variety of topics ranging from practical skills to larger topics of musician’s health and wellness.
