Performance majors are encouraged to take this course. We will spend the semester composing and reading each other’s original works that imitate 7 different techniques found in Post-Tonal music. Two weeks are spent covering each technique: The first week is spent listening to, analyzing, and understanding the new technique, the second week is spent composing a short work that successfully imitates or incorporates the technique.
