This course provides class participants with an overview of characteristics, etiology, and prevalence of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Course participants will examine the psychological, physiological, neurological, social, behavioral, communicative and learning characteristics of individuals with ASD. Instructional supports & strategies, as well as collaboration with individuals, families, professionals, and community will be explored. 45 hours; 3 credits
