This course provides an understanding of contemporary and 20th-century music (1911 to the present day) through study of the major figures, works, institutions, stylistic developments, and intellectual themes related to art music of the modern era. Students will produce an academic research paper. 2-hour lecture, 1-hour lab weekly; 3 credits Prerequisite: M-LT 2101
