D-St 1502 - Floor Barre
Floor barre technique is a gentle and highly effective method for correcting and refining body alignment, building muscular strength and length, strengthening joints, and increasing vitality and artistic expression. Working on the floor eliminates the pull of gravity on the body, enabling dancers to concentrate on proper placement during basic ballet-based exercises. This course prepares the student for morning movement classes and supports the proper body alignment essential in ballet class. 2 hours weekly; 1 credit
