D-ST 74712 - Unconventional Movement
The class will focus on learning how to build a character through physical mannerisms. These techniques are utilized by motion capture professionals in movies, video games as well as shadow performers in dance. We will explore the creation of personality through movement, whether it is individually or working in conjunction with others. We will work from creating specific characters (ex: an old man who is trying to hide a limp) to embodying more general qualities (ex. moving like a machine, moving like an animal).
