D-LT 79917 - Dance and Pop Culture
This course will investigate how dance embodies, expresses, and sometimes resists contemporary popular culture. We will utilize methods of critical analysis to explore contemporary dance practices within their historical and cultural contexts, thereby revealing deeper meanings of everyday encounters with dance. Through watching, reading, and discussing, students will be able to articulate some of the ways in which dance intersects with lived cultural experience.
