D-LT 1601 - Introduction to Dance
Introduction to Dance is a survey course designed to broaden students’ understanding and appreciation of dance as an art form. We will examine a wide range of Western dance forms including ballet, modern, jazz and post-modern dance, as well as different ways dance is presented to and experienced by the public, such as concert dance, commercial dance, and vernacular dance. Through the study of some of the major dance trends in America, the class will address the diverse creativity of individual and cultural expression through the art of dance.
