D-CM 71110 - Ballet
This course provides an in depth study of classical ballet technique. We will be focused on proper body alignment, musicality, quality of movement, personal expression, use of breath, opposition, and the importance of clean technique. Proper ballet technique is the foundation for countless other styles of dance. This makes it imperative for a dancer to have mastery over their ballet skills. During this course we will emphasize the importance of executing steps with proper alignment in order to prevent injury. The ballet technique that we will be primarily focused on is Royal Academy of Dance with Balanchine stylistic influence.
